blackbirds

wind is bringing back the cold

on a grey and rainy morning

where blackbirds sing

the sun to rise

trust

a fully visible moon

behind a soft layer of clouds

an owl

answering the call of a peacock

through the night

the tender sound

of gently falling rain

the smell

of blossoming trees

and humidity

with a river of trust

running underneath it all

symbiosis

awakening with the light

is a particular grace

where the inner

and the outer world

is in a state of symbiosis

beyond

passing

it is all to easily forgotten

that emotions never last

instead it seems

we are deploying heaps of efforts

to make the unpleasant ones disappear

and the pleasant ones endure

whereas they all have a reason for being

and all we are asked to

is let them pass

weightlessness

changes

profound and considerate changes

settling in

to a state of weightlessness

with the return of the sun

and the shift of the moon

shadows

the freedom of facing a shadow

is unexpectedly liberating

protected by darkness

and a warm bed

against the cold

otherwise sneaking in

under the skin

just as darkness sneaks into the heart

overshadowing love in a way

that it is not discovered

until night has fallen upon

the most precious talent

to forgive

fire

a sky on fire

greeting a new day

with intense beauty

lasting only the time

for the impression to make

its imprint on the soul

leaving grey indifference for the eye to rest on

while fire pervades the body

embracing the past

purifying the future

into golden presence

extraordinary

a perfectly grey sunrise

does not mean

that it cannot be

an extraordinary wonderful day

shower

the lizards were playing in the sun

while veils of smoke were being washed away

by showers of love

the reflections in the mirror

are no longer the same

the sharpness slightly overwhelming

after so many years

covered in what seemed

endless layers of dust

whereas all it takes

to bring it back to life

is a shower of love

counterpart

still not accustomed to the cold

though the sharpness it brings

is received with gratitude

removing veils of illusion

left behind by the past

there is no such thing

as a life without suffering

but there are lives

where suffering is given

all the attention

even if through denial

especially when

through denial

and there are lives

where suffering is just there

to counterpart the depths of joy
