though there is plenty of work
which appears
dignifying
with nothing but appearance
in reward

transforming a life
in shame
into a life of
dignity
can be a longer process
than reason is ready
to accept
possibilities
it is at the dead end
of possibilities
that the impossible
find its way
pertinent
cold weather
cautious care
pertinent purpose
fulfilling and fair
seeming
when
what was received
as a punishment
is being embraced
as a grace
what seemed unbearable
becomes
enlightening
abusive
no one is abusive
by decision
though it does not make us
less abusive
when that is how we
behave
