butterflies
and bumblebees
are celebrating the return
of warm light
and soft winds
no longer chasing dead leaves
but caressing every bud
encouraging every tiny sprout not to lose faith
when they reach the surface
just because all that light
seems so utterly overwhelming
after a life in darkness
